ADOBE FLEX BUILDER 2 WITH CHARTING -- NOT BADOct 24, 2007
By Mark D. Rockman Flex Builder combines with the open-source Eclipse IDE to provide a computer language for describing web pages that may contain eye-popping renderings of graphs (pie, column, bar) and charts (datagrids). You can easily include videos in your pages. Graphs and charts can zoom, transition with wipes and fades, and they render in stylish modern colors. They bind to data that may be sourced from web services, over the Internet from XML files, and from files on your very own LAN or local computer. The documentation follows the industry standard, which is to say it isn't very good. You'll search for days for answers to your questions. The code appears to be rock solid. Eventually you get to a point where it all begins to make sense. That's on account of your effort. There is a large user community. All-in-all: a valiant effort that succeeds more than it fails. The only reason I mark it down is because of the documentation. I have seen much worse. This is only slightly above average.
