Perfect for the kitchenNov 27, 2010
By Stephen M. Charme This surge protector is compact and comes with only a 4' cord, which makes it handy for me to use in the kitchen (I don't need or want a long cord, and keep the cord coiled up). This protects my coffee maker, toaster oven, and can opener. It stays flush against the wall in back of these items and out of sight.
Note: This unit does not have an on/off signal light. However, the bottom of the unit does have an on/off switch--which I did not know about when the unit arrived. Since the unit ships with the switch in the off position, at first I thought the unit was defective when nothing went on until I discovered the on/off switch (another reviewer had the same experience). Make sure you turn the switch to the on position. You won't see any signal light, but whatever you plug into the unit should come on.
This is an inexpensive but well made surge protector suitable for relatively inexpensive small items. I would not trust my computer, television or stereo system on this. But for my kitchen appliances it is great.
Update March 8, 2012: I have purchased a couple of more of these so I have enough plugs for the chargers for lots of low power items--camera battery, walkie talkies, blue tooth headsets, Slacker G2 player, running headlamp, etc. This outlet is the perfect size because it doesn't take up lots of space. For chargers with big plugs, I just use a white cube available at my local Home Depot that turns one outlet into three, and I plug the clunky chargers into the sides of the cube, which is plugged into one of the outlets on this power strip. It works great.

Works great!Nov 15, 2010
By BaZingaa Perfect sized. 6 outlets, 4 foot cord. The only thing you may need to be aware of is: the on/off switch is hard to find. I almost sent this item back because I thought it was broken... turns out it was just turned off! Glad I finally found it.

Got Power?Oct 14, 2010

It is a power strip - it works and is Plug & Play, not expensive - what more could you ask for :P
The product is slightly "Heavy" which I find ideal to help keep it from easily turning over on it's side like many other off-brands do. Will buy again when I need another - Belkin delivered a useful product for my simple every day needs.

Not badApr 16, 2011
By Pedro Ledesma III I wanted something cheap that would allow me to plug in multiple electronics so in this respect Belkin has done Okay. The price is great and it's easy to use. Some people complained about the On/Off switch where the cable runs out of and I didn't find that annoying or difficult to find, though I've had many other power strips with On/Off switches. I find that feature useful (when going out of town, I just switch it off instead of unplugging it). Others have said that the outlets are too close together and that's my one complaint about htis product as well. They are closer together than I thought which makes plugging in and taking out difficult or very limited if you have anything bigger than a standard two or three-prong plug. Unless I find something cheaper or near the same price with more space, I would buy this again.

Sometimes 4ft is all you need!Sep 21, 2011

I've been purchasing these for clients a lot lately... they're great....I like having this shorter cord so I don't have to tie up the rat's nest of cables so much.... they have a 2-2.5 ft one too!
Love that the power switch is on the end so you don't accidentally power it off with your toes if you have this under your desk...although one client said she looked all over the strip and couldn't find the power switch... she just hadn't looked on the end! Lol
Belkin is a great company, lifetime warranty, no-hassle returns, attached equipment insurance: and I once had a computer fry long long ago (the electricians sent too much juice through the building and all the surges melted, most of them sacrificed themselves for their attached equipment, but one got through) and Belkin coughed up a few hundred bucks for it!
