dont even waste ten dollarsJan 26, 2008
By B. Cotter This game was created by and in the same format as those who created lego star wars. Thinking that is the base it should be good. It isn't. The character remains locked to the side of the screen. In an effort to make it like an FPS while keeping all the stuff that made SWL good doesn't work. The movement of the character in the environment gave me a headache.
You basically just go around and shoot shoot shoot with no real purpose. There is an auto aim and autolock on firing. Some of the weapons each of the bionicles has varies in speed, damage, and function. This is nice and the fact that you have five hearts and when you lose them you lose one of the masks and bionicle characters and his weapon and his force like "constracting" ie constructing force like ability.
The environments aren't graphically bad but I think the whole bionicle thing doesn't work as well as other regular lego figures. The first bionicle game had less relation to construction but it was an ok game and not hard to move around in and tylenol requiring. The only problem with that one was annoying repetitve tasks where if you messed up you did it again and again.
Anyway, rent it, borrow it from your library like I did, or anything before you spend the money on it, even if you are a fan.
Also, you do need a better graphics card but it it can play lego star wars then you should be fine I think with the pixel shading.

Not the best gameDec 30, 2006
This game has its pros and cons. Unfortunately, there are more cons than pros.
If you're in a middle class family with a computer that's three or four years old, this is not the game for you. The game demands high-speed processors, lots of RAM, and a fast video card. Otherwise, it very choppy (how does 9 or 10 frames per second sound?).
The graphics can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. In my opinion, they're good, but I've seen better.
If you're a big BIONICLE fan, such as I am, you will notice the story line is very inaccuate and hard to follow. For those of you who aren't even BIONICLE fans, don't buy this game. You'll still be wondering what the heck a "Piraka" is by the end of the game.
The cutscenes are like something out of loony toons. 5-year old humor and very weird.
As far as gameplay goes, it's painfully repetitive. Even a hard-core shooter game fan would get bored of this by their fourth level. The only thing that changes are the bosses and the environments.
LEGO, you're better off sticking with the plastic toys you sell today.

disappointedJan 04, 2007
By crawdad Same issue with the lack of Pixel Shader support. Ordered for my son as a Christmas gift before above comments were posted. I've read that even with a proper graphics card, your computer may not run it because your Intel graphics chipset doesn't support TnL (Transform and Lighting). Package was opened of course. Still possible to at least get a credit? I don't think these graphics requirements were posted by Amazon.

Pretty GoodDec 30, 2006
I got this game for Christmas. Make sure you have pixel shader 1.1 before you buy this game. Others are having issues with the game because they don't have pixil shader 1.1.
The game's graphics are good, but the sound gets boring. In Hero Mode(When you turn gold) the same song playes over and over again. The gameplay is repetitive, and you will finish this game very quickly.
Overall, this is a pretty good game, especially for inexperienced gamers.

Inadequate informationDec 25, 2006
By D. Pradhan It's too bad the information is inadequate. I have a GeForce4 MX 4000 graphics card, but it won't run the game because I don't have pixel shader 1.1, and you can't simply download this! Consequently, I have a disappointed child on Christmas Day. I wish the pixel shader requirement was more prominently advertised. Since there is no option for zero stars, which is what I'd give it, not having installed it successfully, the stars here indicate nothing!
