Great label printerSep 02, 2010 In contrast to other reviewers I am using this for labelling products, safety reminder labels etc (i.e. not shipping labels). This printer is perfect for this task. I am using Brother DK-2212 Continuous Length Film Label Roll (2-3/7" Wide) with this printer, the film rolls are much more durable than paper rolls for labels that may be exposed to more demanding conditions (i.e. the general public).
The printer prints pretty fast and auto cuts the labels by default.
The P-touch software that comes with the printer is easy to use and is fairly straightforward. You can insert symbols (like arrows), graphics files (e.g. JPEGs), and even barcodes on labels. Although the printer method is thermal and the labels print black on white I have found that photos print acceptably in grayscale (although I find they look better when the resolution is set to 300dpi rather than the 600dpi).
I do wish the film labels were cheaper but it is still worth it as saves me from having to manually laminate, apply glue & stick as I was doing with inkjet printed labels. Definitely Recommended.

Excellent Label PrinterJul 27, 2010 Have always used DYMO but the price point drove me to purchase the Brother. Wish I would have made the move sooner. It's a great, dependable product. The cartridge system makes for easy switching from one size label to another. As usual, Amazon delivered on time and in one piece.
This is a wonderful and user-friendly label printer.Jun 28, 2010 The Brother QL-570 label printer exceeded my expectations. It is easy to set up and does many things automatically. There are many choices for label content, e.g. fonts, graphics. The big deal for me is that I was able to set the printer to automatically cut the labels and it cuts perfectly. I have not wasted a single label using this printer.

TrickyJun 20, 2010 This thing is far from intuitive to operate, plus I saw it for sale for $50 less than I paid for it.

Brother QL-570 - Fast and Easy!!Jun 01, 2010 Saves me so much time at work. I often have various documents from which I pull text that needs to be filled in on various hard-copy forms. This printer saves me so much time handwriting it out. I created a macro in MS Word to block duplicate the text I need, I then push the p-touch button which installs on MS Word's toolbar and Presto!! A nifty label which I adhere to the form. I have other co-workers who like using it for address and file labels too. The price didn't hurt either...Here on Amazon $39...office depot and staples are upwards of $100. This was money well-spent!
