1Extremely poor qualityApr 11, 2007

These are extremely poor quality headphones. I started using them with my iPod, and compared to other headphones on the same device, the volume and sound quality is horrible. Even with the volume turned to maximum, I often had trouble hearing softer songs and podcasts with even minimal background noise. They also don't come with any sort of soft cover for the earpieces to provide comfort for the ears, so using them is often painful. To make it worse, these headphones actually started to buzz in one ear after only about a month of use. Now the sound will fade in and out, and I've only had these for about 6 weeks. I was very disappointed with these headphones.

You might as well throw your money away instead of buying these. The cord separated from the plug after less than a week of pretty minor (less than 1hr per day, no pulling) use.

Let me explain. I bought these on amazon not used, or like new, but new. I got them in the mail 2 days after I ordered them, so I was obviously excited. I opened the box, and right away, I realized that the wires were thinner than the Sony headphones that I have that will die since the wires are exposed. Right away, I plugged in my Coby headphones. Unlike some of the other times with this company, but similar to one time before with this company, the quality was poor at best. My guess is that Coby is one of those companies where sometimes they're good, and sometimes they're not. This time around for me, they're not. They were good for the person that posted before me because he luckily got a good pair. Coby is usually a good company, but with this specific headphone, there are some defects in them. I took a risk and paid the price. I had the same chance to get the best headphone replacement possible. If you're going to get this set, you have about an 80% chance of getting a great replacement for your broken headphones. For this price, I say go for it, because if you're unlucky enough to get a bad pair, it won't be a loss to you. *ends rant*

These are very uncomfortable. I have small ears and these started to hurt after only 30 minutes of use. I had to turn up the volume on my music when I used these earbuds compared to my ancient, lower-quality-line Sony (over the head) earphones. The sound quality was not good.

Also, the packaging states that the cords contain lead and you should wash hands after handling the earbuds. SCARY!!!

Do yourself a favor and get something better quality. What is the point of spending a lot of money on a good music player if your earbuds don't let you hear it well?

I work in an active environment that has periodic typing/downtime. My hours are long, and I'd prefer to remain mentally active and in touch with the world. For this reason I listen to podcasts and audiobooks at work. Because of this, I destroy headphones. I needed something I could break without much loss. Soon after I found these. I slap some tommy tape on the parts that typically separate and abuse these until I have one working ear, then I cut of the other and abuse the one until it doesn't work anymore. They continue to work great. They even have acceptable music quality, which is a bonus for the price.

I would highly recommend using electric tape or tommy tape at the connections, as these are weak even before any beating I was putting into them. Aside from that, these are great active-use headphones where it is simply not worth it to ruin your typical $20 - $74592525 set.
