Not great product, completely awful companyMar 06, 2010 Why? Really, why buy this trash when Adobe offers de-featured Photoshop products which are superior to Corel's glop for similar prices, plus adobe offers a support structure? Corel has never been famous for their support anyway, and read between the lines, folks: you download this product (or any other) and lose the download (drive failure, Windows upgrade - hey, stuff happens) and didn't buy "download insurance", you cannot redownload. In short - you're screwed. This is not my favorite company, and you won't hear much good out of me on this front.
The app itself is both ho-hum and so-so, the HDR functions are Neanderthal and sickly limited in control, overall controls are familiar but still a little odd, and in the end it'll make web graphics and resize pics for you quite well, if that's your business. RAW support is fair, but the colors are off, and you better be good with gamma adjustments if you seek accuracy. It's compatible with Win 7 (so far) and I've never had a crash, so I guess it gets to keep a star for that, since I can't give it a zero. The difference between Pro Photo X2 and the "ultimate" package was utterly transparent except it loaded the RAW files for my Canon 40D. Other than that, it's just as skimpy and clunky and just not great.
TL;DR - Adobe PS Elements and even Gimp outperform it for cheaper/free respectively. Just move along, nothing to see at Corel. I'm sorry I bought it, but hey - it was cheap. Then again, it really was cheap in every way, huh?
Next - I got to use Paint Shop Pro Photo X3. THAT is a complete pile of reeking garbage. Review to come.
great price good productMar 05, 2010 I purchase this product for photo editing and it is good. I own photo impact 12. This is better and the price was great. Of course it was just before X3 came out but I will stay with X2. If you like detailed photo editing this is for you.
Super value for the price.Mar 04, 2010 I am very pleased with this software. Has almost all the features of Photoshop CS4, with comparable quality, when it comes to editing photo images at 10% of the cost.
The photo program I needed at a good sale priceFeb 28, 2010 This program is what I need to process my photos. I got it at a great price and though it is not the latest version it has plenty of power to manage and process my photos effectively and efficiently.
