needed thisJul 17, 2009
By Philip Kohler
After using an optical mouse on my nice desk for about a year, I managed to wear through the finish of the desk. I figured it was time for a mouse pad.
I bought this one because of good experiences in the past with this manufacturers products. While I was hoping for a slightly thicker mousepad, this one was thinner. The advantage of the thinner mouse pad is that the mouse glids over it more evenly as it doesnt mush down like most thicker ones do.
This pad is made from what I think is some sort of neoprene but, is exceptionally tough. The top layer, something that tends to easily peel from many mousepads after a good amount of use, is still in perfect condition despite my constant abuse.

Too thinAug 11, 2009
This mouse pad is too thin. The advertised Product Dimensions are wrong and said that it's 0.2" thick but it's really 0.125". I purposely bought this for the thickness so this is very disappointing.
The other Product Dimensions are wrong too. Amazon says 9.5 x 8 but it's really 9.125 x 7.875.
How does this happen? Either they're sending us a different product than the advertised one or they don't know how to use a ruler. Either cause is bad.
Update: I should have used the mouse pad before I reviewed it. Now I know it has a more serious flaw. The top surface is made of a soft fabric. This has two problems:
1) It takes way too much effort to move a mouse on it (maybe it would be okay for a roller-ball mouse, but I have a laser).
2) This fabric attracts dust like a magnet and it's really hard to brush the dust off.

Warning eats desk finishSep 13, 2008
DO not buy this pad if you have a wood finish surface. I purchased the Microban mouse pad six weeks ago. To my horror when I removed the pad there was a clear outline of the pad in my new $7000 desk Apparently the black non stick-surface of this pad can react with certain wood finishes. I can't recommend this pad unless your desktop is a non wood surface.

Good for the priceApr 07, 2008
For a $5 mousepad, it has everything that I expect. the surface is soft so my hand feels comfortable on it. It has rubber pad on the other side which keeps it from sliding everywhere on the table. I don't know much about the "Microban" stuff regarding antimicrobial issue but it does seem to collect quite some dirt easily. So far I can just use my hand to pat it off.
Tracking:: I'm using Logitech VX revolution mouse (Laser) on it. This mousepad really slow it down quite a bit. (possibly due to the softness of the surface) It is not quite sensitive and precise and require a noticable slight more effort to move the curser around. Please keep in mind that my comparison is between putting the mouse on bare table surface and on this mousepad. I like fast and sensitive mouse but well, I adjust just fine so far.
