I have not had them for a long time yet so I don't know about long term durability. So far though, I love them. I have several sizes and use them for all sorts of things. Even though they are called "gear ties" they can be used to prop things up and hold objects in a pinch. I use them as a sort of "extra hands" all the time. I've even propped up my phone or tablet on occasion. I've used them in my craft projects when I couldn't find anything else that would hold an item "just so" for me. Let's not forget though, they do work very well holding your gear together. I like that both bright and sober colors are available, depending upon what you need them for. I would not recommend them for cord control as they are just too expensive to get all that you need to do a good job. There are other products much more suited to that. Keep a couple with you. You won't be sorry.

The first time I saw a Nite Ize Gear Tie, I wondered why I hadn't thought of inventing that product myself. Had a devil of a time finding them, but once I knew what they were called, Amazon came through for me. They are the sort of thing that once you use them, you want more, in different lengths. And backups! So I throw in one or two pair with each Amazon order, just to have plenty on hand. I use them to tie up garden hose in the off season, Christmas lights, secure horse carts on trailers - Nite Ize should have a contest on who can come up with the most inventive uses. I'd love to see the responses!

Great tie. Works great for holding cords or anything that you would hold with a twist tie. Seems quite sturdy and long lasting.

Useful for many situations. I used them to tie up cross country skis. I also use them for all sorts of things in the garage that need to be kept together and unwrapped easily.
