JumpStart Numbers (JumpStart Learning Games)Mar 17, 2006
You can call me StoryMaker. I wanted JumpStart Numbers ever since I was a kindergartener. One day, I got it from the library. At that point of time (that means not when I was a kindergartener), I thought it might be too easy because JumpStart Spelling, another JumpStart Learning Game, is way too easy, even though you choose your grade level and also, the only activities is the main game and a review game. This product is much better then JumpStart Spelling! There are 3 activities in this game and they aren't quite too easy. The plot? Well, Frankie is reading a cookbook and then it reminds him that it is snacktime! At snacktime, Frankie eats all his biscuits. That looks very silly! Then, Frankie falls asleep. But "Dream" Frankie says something wierd and I think it may be a little too wierd! It isn't that bad, though. Anyway, I love the activities! Well, Frankie has 3 dreams, therefor 3 activities. In one game, Frankie goes on a spaceship and must get biscuits out of astroids and kick space pooches away! In the next one, he must help Patches the parrot find treasure! In the last one, the sheriff, a cat, says Frankie must shoot equations with bones to get biscuits in a worthy way! Also, you must collect 300 biscuits (100 from each game) to win, therefor I didn't win when this review was written and I doubt I ever will. Overall, fun game that teaches addition, subtraction, and skip counting. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

I'm a fan of most of the jump start games and this is no exception. My son got this when he was just turning 5. He really likes counting the asteroids and getting them into the ship. He also likes getting it wrong so that he can see the spaceship crunch! I see the counting he's doing on this game - then I see the worksheets he does in kindergarden and he's already ahead of the class. He only plays it occassionally now, but it's still one he likes - it has harder levels that he wants to master too. It's not much money... I would recommend that you try it - it can only help math skills.
computer gamesDec 20, 2010
By Bonita L. Thompson We bought this game for our little one prior to buying his new computer. It will not load on a computer running on the new windows 7. It was a big dissapointment.
