A parent's reviewFeb 13, 2008
By Andre
"just a reviewer"
There have been some criticisms of the other Thomas PC games as far as their ability to run on computers with Windows XP (a lot of the Thomas games were created during the Windows 98 days prior to Windows XP) so I was a bit hesitant to purchase this - then again they were selling used editions of the game at four dollars and a penny (including shipping and handling) so I figured it was an acceptable risk... for the most part it runs fine on Windows XP Home edition (which according to some accounts is simply an enhanced version of Windows 98) - I can't vouch for whether or not it would run on Windows XP Professional and / or Windows 2000 or Windows Vista however... my 4 year old loves this game (he particularly enjoyed watching the "3D" versions of Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt come to life on the PC and he enjoys playing the mini-games that advance the storyline) but he needs some help playing it, my 6 year old also likes it and for the most part can play it by herself... Windows XP has some problems with the "print out a certificate" part of the game and the website listed on the instructions for the game is non-existent but my little ones don't mind (they ignore that part of the game entirely)... if you have a little one interested in Thomas, you're running Windows XP Home on your PC (or Windows 98/95 though that's a rare operating system to find nowadays) and you can find another used copy for five dollars I'd say it's well worth the price. (update) - I forgot to mention this in my review - I found when running this game on Windows XP Home Edition, every time you play the game you will receive a few error messages to the effect that the game cannot find the printer spool settings - you can bypass these error messages by just hitting the enter key on your keyboard a few times, after that the game will run normally. Don't let this scare you away - it's an easy enough problem to solve and other than that the game runs perfectly (on Win XP Home at least), if you're running that or Windows 98/95 and can find a used copy for five dollars by all means purchase this game if you have Thomas fans at home - given how simple the game is though I wouldn't recommend spending more than seven or eight dollars (maximum) including shipping and handling on it.

Thomas and FriendsJan 13, 2007
By J. Zimmerly This is a good game it keeps the little ones attention.
It did have a few glitches like hesitating, doesn't seem to like windows xp.
I uninstalled it and reinstalled it to see if that would help, It did work a little better.

You Must Buy This Game!Dec 02, 2010
By KennethF This Thomas game is my 3-year-old's current favorite. It runs under Windows 7 (XP compatibility mode). It is selling for a song. Some of the games she can play by herself now, though some of them she needs help. But you won't get a better deal for a game. My only complaint is that the copy-protection of this game requires me to put the CD-ROM in the computer, unlike Thomas Special Delivery, which runs autonomously when installed. But for the low, low price and the happiness it brings, it's totally worth the hassle -- get this Thomas game.
No good - ReturningMay 03, 2012
By Angie It says it's compatible with Windows Xp/Vista but i tried to run it several times and it did not run. I have Windows Vista. My son was very disapponted when i told him it wasn't working, thankfully I had purchased Thomas's Special Delivery (different Vendor) for windows XP/Vista and that one worked well so he wasn't so upset. Needless to say, I am returning it.

By Svein Askeland My son (3) loves it. Even my daughter (5) likes it to but not advanced enough for her.
