Torrente is Fun!Dec 20, 2009
By R. Larsen I recently recieved Torrente in the mail. I ordered it with a couple of other games to complete the $25 free postage requirement. If I'd known how much fun it is I probably would have ordered it sooner and not cared about the postage. My first requirement for a game is, at the risk of repeating myself, FUN! Yes, the graphics could be better, but they are far from bad. Torrente, as he narrates the game and talks as he goes along is hilarious. Yes, there is profanity but it fits his character perfectly. I really like the fact that where you hit the bad guys makes a difference. You think they are dead, and there they are behind you. Easily switching from first to third person is nice to be able to do. I prefer third person, to my surprise. I like watching him bumble along. I haven't driven any vehicles yet, but as Sole Fish said, I saw one on the box. If I never did I wouldn't care. I'm enjoying myself on foot. No, there are no hidden messages, just good old mindless violence. If you are looking for a deep story, pass this one by. If you like to kill bad guys (and gals) with a great variety of weapons and like to grin and occasionaly laugh while you're doing it grab Torrente now.

This game sucksJun 02, 2005

This game has graphics that look like they were done 8 years ago. The sound is horrible. The guy walks so slow I fell asleep. There are no vehicles and no fun. The best part of this game is when you stop playing it!

Great game WITH vehicles and switchable 1st & 3rd person!Jul 31, 2005

This game is for one type of person only. Anarchist. This game is set up so your entire mission is to brutally slay whatever is in your path. The violence level is pushed WAY up in comparison to most games. Even GTA. Language drenched and blood drenched. You are one MAD cop on a tyrade! I have seen some folks state that there are no vehicles in this game. I can tell you that there are. But, don't just believe me. They are in the screenshots right on the back of the box! This has 60 levels of really unique places. It has the free-roaming select whatever you wanna do next approach. Much like the last few Grand Theft Auto games. You get to deactivate bombs, be a 'bodyguard' for sexy women, and take out some pretty mean snipers. I really like this game. I do agree the graphics are dated. But, not like 8 years dated. More like late 2003 dated. But, it does not affect the fun gameplay.
